Wrap a hug – the wrap library

We decided to specialize in woven wraps as we really believe that they are the most comfortable and snuggly way of carrying your baby.

Wrap a Hug is a space where you can see, touch and try different kinds of wraps/slings.

You will find knowledgeable people supporting you and telling you about the benefits of babywearing.

GUIDELINES:

Wrap a Hug is hosted at the consultant’s place, Flat 12, 67 Vallance road, London E1 5BS in Whitechapel. You may find all the opening days and hours on our website

At Wrap a hug, we want to make sure that you get the support you need to become a confident wrapper. We offer you support during the library session, but also when you take your wrap/sling home. There are several types of services depending on your experience and needs. It is very important that you email us (mel.wrapahug@gmail.com) prior to coming to the library so we can allocate you enough time and book you onto the appropriate service:

  1. Introduction to slings (new to babywearing), no hire: The consultant will guide trough the choice of wraps and other slings (stretchy wraps, mei tais, ring slings) and demonstrate how to use it. This service is given for free.
  2. 20 min consultation and hire (to learn a simple front or hip carry with a wrap, mei tai or ring sling): The consultant will teach you how to do a simple carry (e.g., Front wrap cross carry, hip cross carry, ring sling hip carry). And you can hire the wrap/sling for two weeks upon a fee of £25. During this two weeks period you can contact and ask for help and advice over Skype or Whatsapp messages.
  3. 20 min consultation with your own wrap/sling, no hire (to learn a simple front or hip carry with a wrap, mei tai or ring sling): Same as above with follow-up support £15.
  4. 10 mins troubleshooting consultation, no hire: come with your wrap/sling and we’ll help you make adjustments or whatever else you need, includes follow-up support £7.
  5. Hire only, no consultation: available after a previous initial consultation or for experience wrappers/sling users who want to try different type of wrap/sling, with follow-up support, £10

Nb: If the wrap/sling is returned late a fee of £5 per day will be charged.

DEPOSIT: when you hire a wrap/sling we will ask a deposit of £50 that will be given back to you when you return the wrap. If the wrap is damaged you will be liable to pay the costs of repairing or replacing the wrap. If the wrap is lost or stolen while on hire, you will be required to pay the costs of replacement.

The wrap/sling must be returned washed. You need to carefully follow the washing instructions given to you.

Private consultations can also be booked at the library: ask us for availability and prices.
