All our workshops can be run on demand. We need a minimum of two paying participants (couples don’t pay double).

Workshops can be tailor-made to you and your friends’ needs, and can be run from Wrap a Hug HQ in Whitechapel or your home.

Front carry workshop

Saturday 25th of February, 2pm-4pm, Wrap a Hug, Whitechapel E1, ran by Mel and Azzura, £30 per person

A two hours workshop to learn how to carry our little one in a long woven wrap in two front carries: a front wrap cross carry, a very supportive carry great for long walks, and a front cross carry, a pre-tied, poppable carry perfect for quick ups and downs.Woven wraps can be borrowed for free during the class.

Back carry workshop

Sunday 26th of February, 10am-12pm, Wrap a Hug, Whitechapel E1, ran by Mel and Azzura, £30 per person

A two hours workshop to learn how to carry your baby on your back in a rucksack carry.

Back carries are really comfortable and handy, leaving you hands-free!!

During the workshop, we will learn how to easily and safely bring our baby on our back, how to tie a rucksack carry and different ways of finishing it. We will also learn how do to a double hammock, which is a more supportive carry for bigger kids.

It is preferable that you have some experience with carrying your little one in a woven wrap. Let us know if you are new to wrapping.

Babies should have good head control. Check with us if you’re unsure if you can back carry.

Woven wraps can be borrowed for free during the class. Hire can be arranged at no extra cost depending on availability.

Wrap a hug – private consultations

Introduction:

Wrap a Hug is a babywearing consultancy and sling library specialised in woven wraps. At Wrap a Hug as we really believe that wrapping the most comfortable and snuggly way of carrying your baby and we are passionate about it. We want to make sure that you get the support you need to become a confident wrapper and babywearer. We also have ring slings, stretchy wraps and mei tais for demo and hire if you are interested.

The consultation:

The consultant will teach you how to use a wrap/sling and ensure you feel confident about putting it on by yourself. She will also tell you about the benefits of babywearing, talk to you about safety, how to dress your baby and how to feed your baby in the carrier.

The consultation is booked for 1 hour and it is a set fee. This is an estimate as some consultations might be shorter and others longer depending on the needs of the parent and the baby. We go at your own pace to make sure you get the most out of your consultation. Please do ask questions during the consultation to make sure you understand all the information.

Fees:

  • We offer different types of private consultations, all consultations are booked for 1 hour:At you home or place of your choice: the consultant will bring a selection of wraps/slings and a demo doll

£45 + traveling fees

  • At the consultant’s home where you can choose from all the wrap/slings available. Please note that it is accessible via stairs only (buggies can be left in the entrance at your own risk) and it is a cat-friendly home. Please let the consultant know if you have allergies. It is a very child-friendly place.

£35 flat rate

  • Sling walk: we will meet at your place, help you put the sling on and go for a walk to help you build your confidence. This is particularly useful for first time babywearers who are a bit anxious, mothers who want to breastfeed in the sling on the go and/or for first time back carries.

£45 + traveling fees

  • Skype consultation: if we are unable to meet up then a Skype consultation is possible.

£25 flat rate

Hire:

The consultation includes a free two-week hire of a wrap or sling of your choice.

When you hire a wrap/sling we will ask a deposit of £50 that will be given back to you when you return it. If the wrap/sling is damaged you will be liable to pay the costs of repairing or replacing it. If it is lost or stolen while on hire, you will be required to pay the costs of replacement. You must agree to the terms and conditions of hire, this will be laid out in the hire form

If the wrap/sling is returned late a fee of £5 per day will be charged.

The wrap/sling must be returned washed. You need to carefully follow the washing instructions given to you.

You are more than welcome to hire a different wrap/sling when returning it or ask to extend the hire period (£10 for 2 weeks hire).

Follow-up:

At Wrap a Hug, all our clients get follow up support, whether they come for a free information session at the library or book a private consultation. We are here to accompany you in your babywearing journey and want to ensure you find the experience enjoyable as this can help bonding with your baby. After our initial meeting you can contact your consultant via text message, Facebook messenger (via the Wrap a Hug page), Whatsapp, phone or Skype and ask questions and /or send pictures if you are unsure. The consultant will get back to you as soon as possible.

You are also welcome to drop in at the library for a quick troubleshooting meeting at no cost.

The follow-up support doesn’t include teaching you new carries or how to use a different sling. This must be done via private or 20min library consultation (back carries in private consultations only).

Wrap a hug London is starting again

Good news to babywearers in London: Wrap a hug is starting again!

Mel is joining forces with Azzura to open a sling library and consultancy service focused on woven wraps in East London. She is finishing her babywearing consultant training and is setting up a library with lots of woven wraps and other slings. It will be open very soon and parents will be able to come over, try some slings and get advice. Private consultations and workshops will start in early 2017. Mel co-runs a large sling social group (Sling social East London, join our Facebook group) and is an experienced babywearing mum and passionate about woven wraps and supporting parents.

A two hours workshop to learn how to carry our little ones in a long woven wrap in two front carries: one very supportive and the other one very quick and pre-tied, perfect for up and downs and traveling.
Cost of the class is £ 35 per person.

Woven wraps can be borrowed for free during the class.

Woven wraps are the only carrier which can be used from birth to any age of your child.
They are the most comforrtable and nurturing way to carry our babies.
