Mel is very helpful and knowledgeable – always prioritising safety over sales, which is definitely the kind of person you want to talk to when working out how to carry your child. She helped me to use the pre-loved stretchy wrap I’d been given with my newborn, she helped my husband find and buy a buckle carrier that suited him (and still does now that newborn is a toddler), and she rented me various woven wraps when I was ready to start carrying my baby that way. I attended her workshops on back carrying, rented wraps of different weights when we travelled to very different climates, and felt very supported with her ongoing help as I learnt new ways to carry as my baby grew. Definitely someone to consult if you’re interested in carrying your child at all, at whatever age, no matter your style.

Booking a 40 minute appointment with Mel has been so helpful with my second child. I had a carrier and sling that I used with my oldest daughter. Unfortunately the type of sling I had stretched as my oldest daughter grew so was no longer suitable to be used with a newborn. The carrier I have was a hand me down and is quite old so doesn’t offer good hip support. I met Mel at a family meetup and she talked me through various options. It gave me the opportunity to think about what kind of sling/carrier I wanted to try. At my appointment I tried 2 types of carrier that both myself and husband could use for both our daughters (1 month and 2 years) and a sling I could use when I’m on my own. I’m halfway through my 2 week rental and I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy the carrier and sling. I’m gutted I didn’t find Mel when I had my older daughter. I highly recommend a one on one session with Mel!

Mel from Wrap a Hug is amazing. Super friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. She has helped me to hire a carrier during the first lockdown and provided me with support and help online. She went the extra mile which i as a first time mum really appreciated. Would recommended her to anyone who needs advice and help with baby wearing.

Mel and the Wrap a Hug Sling Library are amazing. She made me feel so good and supported as a first time Mum figuring out slings and wishing to be close to my baby. Each time I have seen Mel she gave amazing advice, guidance and reassurance. She also provides so much free content on her Instagram and FB, I’m constantly referring back to her videos and tips on my babywearing journey. Her help has made me feel safe and confident carrying. If you are a new mum I highly recommend getting a consultation and hiring some slings from before buying a sling. I recommend her to everyone I know in East London and will continue to do so!
