Sling Events

I run *free* sling demos, babywearing information sessions, parents meet-ups and support groups events over east London several times a month. I run regular sessions and one-offs. All events are advertised and up to date on my Facebook page (if Facebook isn’t your thing, just message me!). These events are a great place to socialise with other parents, get some information about slings in a relaxed, informal setting. Depending on timings and how busy the session is, you might be able to try 1-2 slings on. You can hire a sling on the day (fees apply). I will always do my best to support you. If you want to ensure 1-0-1 time, best is to book a consultation or we can book one if we don’t have enough time during the event. Please get in touch ahead of the event if you need specific help or if you have any questions. NB: for safety reasons, back carries are not shown in these events.

Monthly Cloth Nappy and Newborn Sling demos with Hackney Real Nappies Network, Dalston library:

We have joined forces with the Hackney Real Nappies Network to offer you the ultimate cloth nappies and sling information session morning!
Once a month, we meet at Dalston library, Library of Things area, where Esther and Joy from Nappy Ever After will tell you everything you need to know about cloth nappies. Their friendly and informal demo is for anyone who is interested to learn more about reusable nappies, whether you are an expectant parent or you are already using nappies. All welcome!
The talk will last approx. 40 mins and will cover:
-the different kinds of reusable nappies
-the newborn stage
-washing guidance
-other local nappy initiatives.
-troubleshooting.
Hackney parents can claim their FREE £54 reusable nappy voucher.
Nappy Ever After will be joining us where you can sign up to the laundry service.
Following that, I will offer a free newborn sling demo where I’ll:
– Show different sling options for newborns/small babies
– Explain safety and positioning
– Demo slings and explain how they work
– Show how to feed in the slings
– Answer your questions.
Where possible and if time-permitting, after that, for those interested, you can try on a couple of slings (please note that this is a demo and NOT a full sling library and not for 1-0-1 consultations; you will need to book a consultation if you need more time and want to try slings on. I can take a quick look at your own sling if possible on the day, newborns/small babies only for this session. There is no guarantee I will be able to help everyone).
Please be aware that if the session is very busy you may not be able to try on a lot of slings for safety reasons as I will not be able to assist everyone. I will (hopefully!) have volunteers coming to support parents and hopefully be able to support everyone.
If you like to hire the sling you’ve tried on, you can do so on the day. Fees are £5/month for a stretchy wrap or Close Caboos; £10/2 weeks or £15/1 month for any other types of slings inc. follow-up remote support.
Hires to be returned to HQ or posted back (details explained on the day).
You are always welcome to book a 1-0-1 consultation at Wrap a Hug HQ in Bethnal Green if you would like more time and a private consultation.
The demo is aimed at expectant or new parents of newborns to 3 months old babies and aim to inform you about slings 
The sessions run monthly during term-time only.
Timings: 10am-11am: Cloth nappy demos
11.15am-11.45am approx: Sling demo with Q&As
11.50am-1pm: trying on slings
Timings are VERY approximate! Next dates: 24/02/2023, 17/03/2023, 21/04/2023, 19/05/2023, 16/06/2023 and 14/07/2023. Please note that the February and March dates are TBC on my part as I’m due to give birth around this time. I won’t be joining the February demo. The cloth nappy demos will go ahead but I may not be able to join. Do feel free to pop me a text message on 07916349685 to check.

Sling information session at the Hackney Real Nappies Give and Take, Round Chapel, Clapton E5

Come along to the Hackney Real Nappy Network meet ‘Give and Take’ session to pick up some free use cloth nappies and baby items, get some nappy advice and enjoy the lovely vibe! You can also get your £54 vouchers to buy cloth nappies from Hackney council (Hackney residents only, pls go to https://www.hackneyrealnappy.net/ for info).
I will be there to give you free info about slings, chat carrying options, check your own slings if you need help and do demos!
Please note that this is NOT a sling library session and I can’t offer long 1-0-1 consultations as the session is short and usually quite busy 
If you want to hire a particular sling, this can be arranged on the day or prior to the event if you drop me a DM with the sling you want to try (hire fee applies).
I’ll also have my amazing Wrap a Hug babywearing socks and sling mirrors with me for sale if you fancy that too!
Timings: The session runs from 10am-11.30am.
Dates and location: 22nd of March -cloth nappies only as I’m about to have my baby! and 21st of June. We are at the Round Chapel in Clapton E5 (Old school rooms). Tower Hamlets Family meet-up at Poplar Union, Poplar E14

Every first Thursday of the month we meet at Poplar Union 10.30am-1pm for a morning of chats, professional support from various perinatal and early years professionals and providers and great coffee! This is a support group and meet-up for new expectant parents. Bumps, babies and toddlers welcome (though this is not a playgroup). I will be there with my slings to offer free advice, demos, troubleshooting and you can try a couple of slings on and hire on the day. Free ticket booking is required. Click here to book.
